Starfleet Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) returns, two decades after his historic missions on the starship Enterprise. CBS Television Studios presents ten new episodes, based on characters created by Gene Roddenberry. Supervising producer and visual effects supervisor Jason Zimmerman, makeup effects supervisor James MacKinnon and their teams conjure new worlds and new civilizations with DNEG TV, Crafty Apes, Ghost VFX, Mackevision, Technicolor VFX, Pixomondo, FX3X and Filmworks/FX.  
Season 3 of the popular series from producers J.J. Abrams, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy follows the revolutionary plans of Westworld robot host Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) after the massacre at the park. Justin Raleigh of Fractured FX provided on-set prosthetic effects, while special effects supervisor Mark Byers orchestrated in-camera pyrotechnics and other effects. Creating the season's futuristic world fell largely to visual effects supervisor Jay Worth and teams at Pixomondo, DNEG, Crafty Apes, COSA VFX, Important Looking Pirates, RISE, Profile Studios and Deepwater FX.  
Altered Carbon  
Season 2 of Netflix's popular sci-fi show, Altered Carbon, explores the politics and personalities of Harlan's World, a world constantly under the watch and the gun of the Protectorate, which surrounds the planet with communicating orbital satellites capable of tremendous firepower. Anthony Mackie stars as Takeshi Kovacs, on a quest to find his love, revolutionary Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry), with the help of his AI sidekick, Poe (Chris Conner.) Production visual effects supervisor Jay Worth explains the role of visual effects in Season 2, with details provided by supervisors at DNEG, Spin VFX, Krow VFX, Switch VFX and Mavericks.  
Hulu and FX Network present an eight-part science fiction thriller, written and directed by Alex Garland, which probes the boundaries of quantum theory when a computer engineer (Sonoya Mizuno) investigates her boyfriend's disappearance at a Bay Area tech company's secretive development division. Visual effects supervisor Andrew Whitehurst reunites with Garland and artists at DNEG TV, NViz and Outpost VFX to visualize strange realms of probability, along with prosthetics supervisor Tristan Versluis, special effects supervisor Stefano Pepin and specialty prop creators at Artem.  
Tales from the Loop  
Beneath the small town of Mercer, Ohio, lies the Loop, an experimental scientific facility designed to unlock the mysteries of the universe. Fallout from the Loop changes the lives of the townsfolk in mysterious ways, in this streaming series from Amazon Prime Video. Showrunner Nathaniel Halpern translates the surreal artwork of Simon Stålenhag into a series of eight interconnected stories. Visual effects supervisor Robert Bock and artists at Rodeo FX create haunting illusions, supported by MPC and Bot VFX. Alan Scott and his team at Legacy Effects populate Mercer with practical robots and other sci-fi oddities.  
The Boys    
In a world where superheroes are as corrupt as the mega-corporations who steer their careers, a gang of vigilantes embarks on a mission to bring these wayward 'Supes' to justice. Adapted from the comic books by Garth Ennis, this Amazon Prime Video series features visual effects by a host of companies including DNEG, Mavericks VFX, Soho VFX, Mr. X Inc., Pixomondo, Rodeo FX, Framestore, Rocket Science VFX, Monsters Aliens Robots Zombies and many others, led by production visual effects supervisor Stephan Fleet.
